Frederik Wind is the founder and lead artist working from Bulimba Art Studio, in Brisbane Queensland.
Here is a little snapshot of his history, work experience and sources of inspiration.
Born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 1951.
He came Australia with his family and settled in Sydney where all of his school education took place.
Fred’s Tertiary Studies were completed in rural NSW, Bathurst and Wollongong and his final Art degree was completed at the NAS in Sydney
Bathurst Teacher’s College / Alexander Mackie CAE, Cert T.,Art Majors
Wollongong Institute of Education, Dip. T., Art Majors
Alexander Mackie CAE/ National Art School, Diploma in Art Education/ Accredited Degree Status in all Australian States.
Commenced teaching in 1971 Sydney
Appointed Art Master NSW Dept of Edn. 1981, Sydney
Seconded to RAAF School Malaysia, Dept of Defence, 1982-4 as Art Co-ordinator
Appointed Art Master Northern Rivers NSW, 1980’s (getting closer to Queensland!)
Two solo exhibitions in Maclean, group show in Grafton Private sales and commissions
Moved to Catholic system 1990’s Teaching Art making , Private sales during this period.
Moved to Bulimba in 2006, teaching Visual Art to Senior students at a prominent Brisbane State College (2006-2012)
Established ‘Bulimba Art Studio’
